This documentation is for users and administrators, not those wanting to install.

There are a variety of nice applications for Android and Android-derivative (eg. Graphene) mobile devices.

Note: we offer links to two different “stores” for Android. The built in, surveilled Google Play Store, and the Open Source F-Droid alternative.

Spark

On Android, Google wants us to use Gmail and their ceontrally surveilled services all the time. No thanks. But there isn’t a native client built into Android for email. We recommend Spark as a solid application. It has some paid features, but the “free” version is very nice and workable.

Google Play Store

Etar

Access your Nextcloud calendars on your Federated Core from your mobile device. Requires installation and configuration of DAVx5 (see below for more information).

Tasks

Access your Nextcloud task lists on your Federated Core from your mobile device. Requires installation and configuration of DAVx5 (see below for more information).

Jitsi Meet

Attend Jitsi meetings on Federated Core from your mobile device. Note: your user name is just the name before the @domain.com. Example: david if the email is david@domain. Your password is the same as for any other service.

Element

Connect with your Federated Core Matrix server using Element on your mobile device.

Bitwarden

Get access to the Vaultwarden passwords on your Federated Core.

Google Play Store

Wireguard

Connect to the VPN on your Federated Core.

A Word about Contacts

Contacts are synched on Android using DAVx5 (see below for more information).

DAVx5

This is a paid app, but allows you to subscribe to your Federated Core for tasks, calendars, contacts.

The “Nextcloud” application for Android. You can use this application to log into your Federated Core and access, sync, and upload your data and instant upload for photos and videos, upload management and other features.

Use your bookmarks on your mobile device.

F-Droid Open Source Store

Deck

Use the project management tool “Deck” on your mobile device.

Remember, your credentials for any application connecting with the Nextcloud installation on your Federated Core are:

Server: https://nextcloud.domain.com (where “domain.com” is your domain name)
User name: your Federated Core email address
Password: your Federated Core password
